Custom 3D printed Pen Holder

$12.00

Here is my newly released idea of a over beefed up pen holder for someone who really uses their pen storage a lot. I created this with space in mind, eliminating unwanted areas that could be useful w/o sacrificing strength in structure. What you will notice is the thickness. It’s very sturdy. The very first design of this item featured a curved back where the three main holes sit on the bottom, causing concern for tipping over if to heavy. I eliminated it by making it more boxy which will make a more flat structure that is able to handle a lot of weight. You will also notice the chamfers and fillet I added in fusion 360. These are the same features you could find on a metal precision part, just in PLA plastic. Technically, this 3d print is a precision part but the precision in thickness is usually inconsistent, sometimes off more than 0.005- 0.010+ (five thousand/ 1 ten thousandth of an inch) on either side of the outline.

When you hold this in your hands, there should be no sharp edges and no rugged textures that make it uncomfortable to hold (besides the bottom, it’s a textured plate we print on) there are also 3 main holes on top for added use to store anything that may fit in them. Originally a 0.800 size hole, I’ve also reduced this to 52% in size which is roughly a 9:45 minute print. There is also added holes on the flared sides which make it more like a platform increasing the sturdiness, as well giving you more spots to place pens, sharpies, or other items of your choice. To further it more, we added a cylinder extension acting as a cup to further place anything else you may want to put inside. It’s your perfect spot for all your writing needs. I’d say this is perfect for a student who has a bunch of favorite pens or pencils / markers they have favorited to keep handy. Printed in basic PLA material, this is going to last you a good while as long as you keep it out of harms way. The price is because I will be sending this item in a box to you! It’s bulky but this is entirely my design. I thought ahead of multiple problems and decided to give it a shot and try to “solve” some things by creating this pen holder design. I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I’m open to any ideas or suggestions to make this item better in the future for others.
